This Grade II listed building dates back c1796 and previously traded as ‘The Army and Navy Store’ for 93 years. Many of the original fixtures and fittings remain; retaining the building’s historical charm. Spread over three floors, we have an assortment of spaces that are perfect for groups both large and small. Popped in for a drink, ended up eating here. Good music, friendly staff, and a great selection of craft beers. I had the Fossgate Kebab, load of chicken and rare rump steak, chips not required, delicious 🤤 wife had Bombay Tandoori Kebab, chicken tender, chicken was spicy. Recommended, good staff 👍😉
5 stars for their service, atmosphere, drinks n quality time which I have spent there. Beautiful place at the corner of York city. In middle of city so not far n easy accessible.
Umm.. hard to rate this one. We had booked a table for earlier in the week, and popped in to see what was what, only to see a sign saying “no kitchen tonight” we were never told prior or before the evening.

Within our walls, we have enjoyed some great experiences with people and created some great memories that will never be forgotten. First place we went for food in York and it did not disappoint. Full English was incredible and I loved the fresh pancakes. Good value for money and friendly staff.
First time out in york with some friends and this place was the last stop! Had an amazing night met some really lovely people everybody who goes is easy to talk to and the bar staff are very welcoming.
Personally one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. If I lived in York I’d eat here everyday hands down. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and get the full English.

Whenever I am in York (not often these days) I enjoy a drink at this place.
We actually came across this hidden gem by accident, tucked away down an entry but we spotted the twinkly lights and were drawn in!It was nice and warm and cosy and we just fancied a nice dessert.
Beautiful food. Excellent service. Not too long of a wait. Lovely outdoor setting. Definitely recommend a visit.
