Everyone needs somewhere they can go to catch up with friends & family, read a book or spend some time alone, and that’s exactly what we had in mind when we started out.  Everything  from fresh home – made food & treats to delicious coffee, we’ve got everything you need right here.  Steve & Christine welcome you to this hidden, quirky little gem.  Overlooking Shambles market we offer two themed floors, music & film inspired. We also do speciality teas and  hot chocolates, a varied range of smoothies and milkshakes and also a well stocked fridge with cold soft drinks.  We also have a well stocked bar, but our licence does require food to be consumed.

Hidden gem! Quirky, music themed, 3 storey, little cafe hidden behind an unassuming facade. Good variety menu. We had club sandwiches and they were delicious. When we visited, there was a young workforce in place who were friendly, fast and efficient. Will definitely go back on my next visit to York. Highly recommend.
I popped in for a hot drink as walking around York was bitterly cold. I decided not to eat here just because I didn’t feel relaxed. There were plenty of people here though, friendly and quirky. Just not a place for me.
We found this little gem of a place on Sunday. Staff were friendly and the place is quirky and nicely decorated. We just had drinks and they catered for the diary allegry in our party. We loved it so much we went back the next day and had sandwiches and a couple of desserts. The food was lovely and didn’t take long. Would certainly come back here next time we visit york.

Amazing food all made fresh. I go nearly every day! Customer service is brilliant and there’s loads to choose from. I was also impressed all the food is baked there or from other local businesses.
Absolutely amazing food, great choice and very friendly staff who will give you a warm welcome.
Lisha has done a fantastic job getting the deli up and running and the local businesses are loving it!
I had the American pancakes this morning and WOW!! They were the best American pancakes I’ve ever had ! You have to head down and try them and all of the other amazing products from freshly baked bread to cakes!

Beef barbacoa was just out of this world. So yummy! You can grab your sandwich and drink, head towards the market where there are sitting areas.

It looks fancier than it tastes. So the famous Shambles Kitchen fairy fairy sandwich. The sandwich is good. But the bread in the bottom is very soggy when we get there. It doesn’t taste spicy at all.

Quite possibly the two best sandwiches I’ve eaten in my life: the Reuben and pulled pork options are absolutely delicious! I’ve always enjoyed the rice boxes here too.
