Companio was originally established in 2015 by Russell Goodwin after a successful crowdfunding campaign based on the Ancoats bakery on Radium Street and the original model of utilising a bicycle and trailer to sell sourdough at Victoria Station in Manchester.

Just wow. Perfect pastries. Buttery laminated layers, soft, flakey, and crisp. Everything we tried had well balanced flavours and fillings. The coffee almond croissant was insanely good. As was the zataar and feta swirl. To be honest, everything was. Also, everything is baked and shaped right there so you can see the process if you want.

Friendly service and a warm welcome. Cinnamon Bun was high quality and a very reasonable price given it’s freshness. Best bakery in Ancoats.

Best bakery in the North West, just unbelievably good. The staff were very friendly (as it was our first visit) and the bread and pastries we picked up were incredible.

What We Offer:

It all started with a ‘DREAM’ and big passion for baking that was passed through generations. I remember the first cake I baked with my grandma when I was only a kid. The cake was called Bolo Nega Maluca which is very reach chocolate cake that my family enjoys every day. And so it began. Alex’s Bakery is known for our tasty baked goods, sweets and cakes. You wouldn’t believe it if I tell you that I don’t own an oven at home but I don’t. The magic happens in our newest store at 225 Deansgate.

Martins Craft Bakers & Sandwich Makers has been a familiar name to Mancunians over many decades. The original Martin was one Richard Martin not, as might be supposed, a Lancastrian and a native of Manchester but instead a very far travelled man. Richard Martin was born in 1894, the son of Swiss confectioner Reinhart Martin and his wife Maria, in St Gallen in Switzerland.

Simply the best. Good variety of cakes bread sanwiches abd pies. You cant go wrong at Martins. Shop local

I love Martins bakery, but this one in newton heath is very bad at the fillings. They put very little on. The one on moston lane (about 1 mile away) is alot better, they really fill up your butties!.
